Purnima (best): Each month's Purnima is ideal for Satyanarayan Puja. 12 Purnimas in 2026. Especially Chaitra Purnima (4 April), Vaishakha Purnima (4 May — Buddha Purnima), Kartika Purnima (27 October — Dev Deepavali), Magha Purnima (4 February).
Ekadashi: Being Vishnu-tithi, Satyanarayan puja extremely auspicious. Especially Mokshada Ekadashi (11 December 2026 — Gita Jayanti).

Chapter 1: In Naimisharanya, Shaunaka and other rishis asked Suta Muni — "How to make humans happy in Kali Yuga?" Suta said — "Do Satyanarayan vrat." Then Narada-Narayana dialogue — Narada saw human sufferings, asked Vishnu for solution. Vishnu told Satyanarayan vrat. Then story of a poor brahmin — who did vrat and became prosperous.
Chapter 2: A woodcutter learned from brahmin and did vrat — from poverty to rich, prosperous family.
Chapter 3: King Ulkamukha did vrat. Vaishya merchant named Sadhu learned from king and did vrat — son-attainment, wealth.
Chapter 4: Sadhu Vaishya on business-trip with son. Son imprisoned. Sadhu left puja on river-bank (vrat-bhang) — wealth gone. Satyanarayan angry. Sadhu repented and did vrat again — all returned.
Chapter 5: King Tungadhwaj did not accept prasad from gop-gardeners' worship in forest (ego). His entire kingdom destroyed. Then repentance and vrat — all again.
