Sundarkand — fifth kand of Ramcharitmanas (Tulsidas), and fifth chapter of Valmiki-Ramayana. Hanuman-ji's Lanka-yatra, Sita-darshan, Ashoka-vatika, Lanka-dahan — these are subject of "Sundarkand". 60 dohas, 100+ chaupais.
Why "Sundar"? Tulsidas says — name "Sundarkand" because — Hanuman-ji beautiful, Sita-ji beautiful, beautiful Lanka, beautiful sea-crossing, beautiful war, beautiful meeting. Every line filled with love-bhakti.

1. Sea-leap from Mahendra-mountain: In Sita-search Hanuman, Angad, Jambvant on sea-shore. Who can cross 100-yojana sea? Hanuman-ji had forgotten his power — Jambvant reminded. Hanuman took huge form and leaped from Mahendra-mountain.
2. Path-obstacles: Mainak-mountain (helpful), Sursa (mother — test), Sinhika (rakshasi — slain). Victory over all.
3. Lanka-darshan: Lanka-entry in subtle form. War with Lankini (gatekeeper). Observation of Ravana-state — golden Lanka, opulence.
4. Vibhishan-meeting: Met Ravan's brother Vibhishan. Heard him chanting "Ram-Ram" — recognized. Vibhishan told way to Ashoka-vatika.
5. Sita-darshan: Mother Sita lonely under Ashoka-tree. Rakshasis all around. Hanuman hidden on tree watching all. Ravan comes — tries to persuade Sita — Sita has straw-vision (treats him like grass).
