Guru Pushya Yoga is regarded as the supreme of all auspicious yogas. Thursday is itself the day of Brihaspati (Jupiter), and Pushya is also Brihaspati's nakshatra — when both coincide, a "double-Jupiter" power forms.

This yoga occurs about 6 times a year. Best for new business, beginning studies, mantra diksha, brahmopadesha. Buying gold on Guru Pushya before Diwali or Akshay Tritiya is considered extremely beneficial.
